Saint Peter’s church is the main church of Alverca do Ribatejo, in Vila Franca de Xira. It is located in the historic centre of Alverca, in the town’s highest part. It is a three-nave church and its furniture, retable, paintings and ceiling stucco all date from the 18th century. The church also features a 17th century tile set with episodes of Saint Peter’s life, namely the Deliverance of Saint Peter by the Angel.
