Linda-a-Velha venerates Our Lady of the Cape from the distant year of 1763, year from which Father Antonio Xavier Ligeiro dedicated a beautiful chapel to him of the year of 1780. The Chapel became insufficient for the religious life of this locality , for this reason Father Manuel Martins founded in 1996 the Church of Our Lady of the Cape, together with a School of Music and the Home for the Elderly.
