This church was projected by António Lino and was inaugurated in 1953. It is a wide space that harmonises modernity and soberness, hosting several contemporary sculptures by Leopoldo de Almeida, Soares Franco and Maria Amélia Carvalheira, as well as ceramics by Jorge Barradas and the magnificent triptych of the chancel, painted by Domingos Rebelo, representing scenes from the life of the Hospitaller Saint. The heritage of this church includes some pieces from the demolished church of Our Lady of Socorro.
