The Parish of Luz Sul was created in 1986 and its parish church was inaugurated in 1996. The invocation is due to the geographical vicinity to the Portuguese Catholic University and the Dominican community of Saint Dominic of Benfica. With a contemporaneous and discrete architectural plan, the church is distinguished from the outside by its tower in metallic structure; inside, the disposition of the church places the altar at the centre, with an image of the Risen Christ. In one of the side walls, there is a representation of the patron and, in the other one, a modern tubes organ can be seen.
